Kurt's meeting with US Assistant Secretary O'Brien, statement after the meeting and the issue of Association

Following phone calls with French President Emmanuel Macron, the country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, met in Germany on Wednesday with US Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs of the US State Department James O'Brien.
He wrote US assistant secretary himself about the meeting.
O'Brien in a post on the X platform writes that at the meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, he has called for urgent progress in establishing the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
The US deputy secretary writes further that they have talked about the positive steps Kosovo should take.
“The US supports Kosovo's path towards Euro-Atlantic integration. To move forward, we need to implement EU-mediated pledges, including urgent progress in establishing the Association of Serb-run municipalities. With Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti today, I have discussed the positive steps needed”, wrote O'Brien, broadcasting Telegrafi.
The meeting between Kurt and O'Brien has been named as productive to the US ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Havenier.
Hovnier further writes that the US expects Kosovo and Serbia to fulfil all obligations made within the EU's facilitated dialogue.
Days earlier, France's president, Emmanuel Macron, in a telephone conversation with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurtin on Tuesday, has underlined the importance that France devotes to Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe, as well as rapid and irreversible progress in implementing by the Kosovo Association authorities of Serb majority municipalities.
