Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has reacted after the initiative for the dismissal of mayors in four northern municipalities failed. As voter turnout was low.
He through a Facebook post has said that the dismissal of current mayors and holding elections have been key criteria for removing European Union measures towards Kosovo, which the executive leader calls unfair.
Kurti wants these measures to leave as soon as possible after Kosovo enabled the elections.
“The option of firing the current chairmans and holding the election for dismissal were key criteria for removing measures against Kosovo on the part of the European Union. These unfair measures, after today's vote, must be removed as soon as we can --” -- wrote Kurti, among other things, on Facebook.
Kurti: The results of today's vote in the north show there is no will to dismiss current mayors
