Prime Minister Albin Kurti wrote about yesterday's meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, James O'Brien, during his stay in Germany.
Kurti said he has discussed the importance of full implementation of the basic agreement with Serbia.
I've met US Assistant Secretary of State Jim O'Brien and Ambassador Jef Havenier. We discussed the importance of respecting and implementing the basic agreement. We will always be sympathetic to the US for the central role and support of Kosovo on our way to Euro-Atlantic integration”.
O'Brien, who said Kurt had asked for urgent progress in establishing association, wrote about the meeting yesterday.
“The US supports Kosovo's path towards Euro-Atlantic integration. To move forward, we must implement the pledges of facilitated dialogue by the EU, including urgent progress in the Association of Serb majority municipalities. I discussed the positive steps needed with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti today”, wrote O'Brien on X.
Before the vote on Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe occurs, The US, France and Germany recently requested Kurti's urgent and essential steps towards association.
