In Kosovo lack, smuggling with Marlboro, police seize 500kg of tobacco

According to police patrolmen of Elez's Border- Hanin Police Station, during the implementation of duties and police activities in the border area between the Republic of Kosovo and North Macedonia yesterday in 25.04.24, in the Krivenik village of Elez Khan, have observed a suspected vehicle and immediately taken action to stop it.

The driver of the vehicle, once noticed that he was spotted by border patrols, abandoned the vehicle and fled towards Macedonia's territory.
Police have withdrawn the vehicle with license plates of North Macedonia, and during the vehicle's search, it has been found to be loaded:

1,360 packets of x 800 g = 288kg, of type lord,
279 packets x 500 g = 39.5 kg, type of malboro
3.60 packets of x 500 g = 30kg, type lord
4.60 packets of x 500 g = 30kg of dunhill type
5.80 packets of x 500 g = 40kg of davidoff type
6.80 packets of x 500 g = 40kg of West Type
7.20 packets of x 500 g = 10kg of rotal type
8.20 packets of x 500 g = 10kg of type virginia.

In all, 487.5kg of cigarettes have been seized ready for the market. The value of the mountain and excise remains to be determined by Kosovo Customs.
The goods were allegedly smuggled from northern Macedonia via mountain roads. In the case all actions are undertaken in co-operation with the State Attorney, where, at his order, smuggled goods and vehicles seized and sent to Elez's customs-food terminal.

We remember that now and several weeks on the Kosovo market there is a shortage of Marbolo with the reasoning that they will go to market with new packages, where photos are expected to be placed that show how harmful smoking is.
