Kosovo citizens have the right to seasonal work in Finland, without having to get work visas

Kosovo citizens now have the right to be employed for seasonal work in Finland, without undergoing visa procedures after visa liberalisation. As the Finnish authorities have explained, Kosovo passport holders will be allowed to work for up to nine months within a year of one year in the country, in the agriculture and [...] sectors.
As the Finnish authorities have explained, holders of Kosovo's passport will be allowed to work for up to nine months within a year's time in the country's agriculture and tourism sectors as long as they obtain necessary documents, Schengen Visa reports.
In line with the rules Finland has, seasonal workers from Kosovo who will work in the country for the maximum of 90 days will have to be equipped with seasonal work certificate.
This certificate is issued by the Finnish Migration Service and the application process is completely online, without having to set up an embassy meeting.
For those with employment commitments in Finland not more than 90 days and who have already travelled to the country or to any other visa-free Schengen state, the Finnish Embassy in Kosovo has suggested that they check that they have enough days for seasonal work certificate.
If all visa-free days have been used, seasonal workers, who will stay in Finland no more than 90 days, must apply for a residence permit for seasonal work.
As for seasonal workers from Kosovo aiming to work in Finland for three to nine months, it is mandatory with residence permits for seasonal work.
Application for residence permits for seasonal work is also online. However, applicants must set a meeting at the embassy to undergo identification.
If the total length of your seasonal work in Finland exceeds 90 days, don't request a certificate for seasonal work. Instead, apply for a residence permit”, they have said from the Finnish Embassy in Kosovo.
As for holders of Kosovo's passport with preliminary experience of seasonal work in Finland over the past year, the embassy stressed that they are encouraged to ensure their adaptability for reapplication.
The permits for seasonal work are limited to a maximum of nine months over each 12-month period, stressing the importance of early planning and co-ordination with employers in Finland.
As Kosovo passport holders can be employed seasonally in Finland under the eased rules now for them to travel visa-free to Schengen, the case is not the same for several other third-nation citizens.
Finland has decided to suspend applications for wild berries from Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Visa applications for wild berries from these countries have been suspended because of suspicions that the road is used for human trafficking.
