KFOR brigade message from Budapest: Anyone who wants trouble with our people faces the most powerful military organization in the world

Federico Bernacca, Brigadier General and deputy commander of the NATO Force in Kosovo (KFOR) Balkan Budapest Forums (BBF) Organised by Hungary's Institute for International Affairs (HIIA), it sent a clear message to all those who think they can attack KFOR once again and go unpunished.

“If anyone wants to be confused with our members, there will be work with the entire most powerful military organisation on earth”, the Italian general said, recalling the violent attack by Serb protesters in May last year in Zvecan KP Serb-run municipality in the northern part of Kosovo, where dozens of KFOR soldiers were severely injured.

Bernacca, among other things, stressed that the war in Ukraine caused serious security threats in the Western Balkans, including Kosovo, also exacerbating the situation through promoting false news and creating a social and political vacuum that can be exploited by irrational or emotional factors, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“There can be no military solution to problems between Kosovo and Serbia. Only through diplomacy and dialogue led by the European Union (BE) can problems be resolved permanently”, the Italian general underlined among other things, adding that this does not mean that KFOR does not keep an eye on 24/7 in every corner of Kosovo territory.
