Against Vetvendosje deputy Visar Kornica, a libel indictment has been filed these days.
As the legal representative of former Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin, lawyer Faton Fetah, has announced that he has filed a libel indictment against MP Kornica, who in March, in a statement for an online media in Kosovo, had mentioned Mr. Veselin that “had influenced a project in the Kosovo Tax Administration”.
Fetahu has clarified in a Facebook post that they have given the case to MP Kornica to improve the slandering expression, but that has not happened.
This is Fetah's full post:
As the legal representative of former Kosovo Assembly Speaker, Mr. Kadri Wessel, I've filed a libel indictment against Vetevendosje Movement MP Visa Korenica these days. The same, in March of this year, consumed an unprecedented slander against Mr. Wessel, in his desperate attempt to assess the circumstances of the failure of a project under the Kosovo Tax Administration.
MP Kornica had issued this statement for the “portal Indexline” and article was published entitled: “ATK ʹakshom Pazar's position is advanced by workers who damaged budget”.
After the public statement, you held back the slander against Mr. Wessel, under the law in power, asked the MP to improve the defamatory expression, respectively, from the statement. Six weeks passed, and the MP ignored the request by choosing the silence.
So he invented this slander, made sure to publish it and disseminate such a false statement in the media, but never proved it with a single fact.
Under those circumstances, the judicial route remained unalterable. As a result, the quality of Mr. Kadri Wessel, I have filed the slander indictment against this MP, who in the quality of the indictees will have the burden of evidence to prove the truth of his statement. I hope and hope that the court will effectively handle this court case by consisting of Mr. Corenica and the same will hold him responsible for the damage caused, and in no way will the materials be described, as in the past in a life threat to Mr. Wessel.
