Balje said that despite the pressures warned by Prime Minister Albin Kurti that he will personally engage in securing votes for the adoption of the new Civil Law, he will not change his stance.
“I am not changing my” position, Duda Balje told FrontOnline briefly.
Besides Balje, VV representative Gazmend Agusholli said he will vote again against the Civil Law, which allows the same sex to exist.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Kurti said the government meeting decision has been made on this matter.
“We will work hard to approve it in a very near future. For that I will personally build a parliamentary majority and for that I will seek broad support even from opposition parties. The government's meeting decision on the issue has already been made”, Kurti says.
Kurti also said that they are doing so after Montenegro, which offers its citizens the right to civil unions of the same gender.
Allow me to give you an example. Kosovo will soon aim to become the second country in the Western Balkans, following our neighbours Montenegro, offering its citizens the right to civil union of the same gender”, Kurti stressed.
