IPK seeks suspension of Riza Murati, police captain suspected of domestic violence

Kosovo Police Inspectorate has recommended the suspension of police captain Riza Murati, writes Periscopi.

Riza Murati, director of the Anti-Trade Trafficking Directorate of Kosovo Police, is being investigated after the same one allegedly committed violence against his wife.

In fact, regarding the violence he has inflicted on the family, Murat's wife for Nationale has shown herself.

She says that because of the ongoing threats the senior police director, Riza Murati, has also been forced to leave Kosovo.

I have denounced him for the physical violence he has exercised, psychic violence, verbal violence, for the most extreme violence I've ever had. Threats to murder and the disappearance of traces if you punish the case in the police, you don't have to see the children... ..”, she said, among other things in the confession.

We remember that within a few days two women were killed, one in Pec and the other in Ferizaj, just from their partners. Tragic cases caused numerous reactions.

Kosovo Police Inspectorate has recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension of a police captain, respectively, the chief of the central sector for investigating human trafficking.
The recommendation is made based on IPK's legal authorisations, since the police captain is suspected of criminal activity “Kanu in the family”.
IPK investigators are in constant communication regarding the case with the Founding Prosecutor in Mitrovica, to whom reports/proposals concerning investigative actions have been forwarded.
The IPK under investigative action, according to the previous procedures, has also announced the Protector of Victims who have submitted a request for Defense Order to the competent court.
Taking on suspicion of criminal action in investigating this case, based on IPK legal authorization, has been recommended as the police captain's suspension.
Other investigative actions will be taken by IPK investigators in full co-ordination with the State Prosecutor.
