IKP recommends suspension of a police sergeant, excessive with the use of force against a citizen

The Police Inspectorate has recommended the suspension of a police sergeant in Prizren “for overcoming police authorization while using force”, writes Periscope.

The event was reported to have occurred yesterday in the evening hours when police had initially banned the citizen/announced for an offense in Prizren City.
Following the pronunciation of two tickets for the civil offence had been accompanied to the police station in Prizren”, the IPK report said.

Kosovo's Police Inspectorate, respectively, has admitted this morning to the IPK regional office in Prizren a complaint by a citizen who was complaining about overstepping police authorization during the use of force by a police official.

The event was reported to have occurred yesterday at evening hours, when police had initially banned the citizen/an attorney for an offense in Prizren City.
Following the pronunciation of the two tickets to counterinsult the citizen was accompanied to the police station in Prizren.
Following initial consultations with the competent prosecutor, IPK investigators have been engaged in taking concrete investigative action by going to the scene, as well as accepting medical reports concerning the nature of the complainer's bodily injuries.
While the investigation is continuing against the police sergeant (head of the Speed Response Unit in Prizren), The IPK, based on legal authorisations, has recommended to the Kosovo Police his suspension on suspicion of exceeding police authorization while using force.
IPK investigators in continued consultation with the prosecutor responsible are expected to take other investigative actions concerning the occasion to clarify the circumstances of this incident.
