LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri says that official Belgrade is certainly the reason why the failure of the referendum for the dismissal of Albanian mayors in the four northern municipalities occurred.
Haziri stresses that, after that, considerable concern awaits Kosovo and Albin Kurti Government.
“Of course, official Belgrade is the source of failure in this vote under the petition for the departure of the mayors, who have legitimacy but have no legitimacy. Concern for the Republic of Kosovo, the Government of Kosovo and Kurti will be very great because the play of the Kosovo Serbs in these four municipalities belonged to official Belgrade was very large”, Haziri said.
Haziri sees as disturbing the fact that Kosovo Serbs have a credibility to the Serbian List and official Belgrade.
“The inauguration of the whole problem that should be a concern for Kosovo is, not only the Kosovo Serbs' loyalty to official Belgrade, but to the failure of the Kosovo Government's policies because punitive measures, through the plan for destatement, will be very difficult to meet in the eyes of the EU. The situation will continue to be seen as such, practically we have returned to the zero point meaning the initiative for boycott, where Kosovo institutions' boycott is being followed by the institutional boycott”, Haziri said.
The big harm is that we are suffering financial sanctions and the major limits that international partners have placed on government exhibits, including Prime Minister Kurti”, he adds.
Haziri criticises the government's approach even in terms of the sanctions Kosovo is suffering, while saying the process of firing the mayors does not deter them.
“The Kurti government is taking over whether it is imposing EU and US sanctions on Serbia whether to remove Kosovo sanctions from the EU. The boycott or voting process does not dispel punitive measures because this process has not shown success. Since there is no result, it will be very difficult to be convinced that punishment measures are averted. The cardinal mistake of this government is that it is continuing to buy a time”, Haziri told Blic newspaper.
According to Haziri, the second package of sanctions for Kosovo remains as warned by the EU and, as he mentioned, in the event of any transition, could also be activated.
But, according to Haziri, in order for something like this not to happen, then the policy of destabilization must find the best way or form, more just and more constitutional and legal.
The second “package of sanctions has been warned, remains as such. If it is praised for an exit from the Pristina part that probably includes a constructive policy, pragmatism, co-operation or co-ordination, which you do not find in this government, the least you find in this government, then the second package can be activated, despite the growing centimeter for the right extreme, which has an extremely bad policy towards the Republic of Kosovo”, Haziri said.
For us not to reach this situation, the policy of destabilisation must find a better way or form, more fair and more constitutional and legal. It is not simple, it is neither easy; rather, it requires a major commitment that includes domestic dialogue with fairies and legitimate political representatives of Kosovo Serbs”, he adds.
