After two and a half days of evidence, the 55th witness of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS), Ramiz Qerici, has concluded in the trial of former KLA leaders Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.
At the end of the testimony, the witness was questioned by the court, exactly the Guénawl Mettraux and Fergal Gaynor judges.
The Witness said that in mid - August 1998 he was officially appointed commander of Battalion, but that his post was exercised earlier.
“Mu has put the decision in writing. But even earlier, the battalion functioned as a battalion. But, at this time, my wife has written”, he said.
The Witnesses were also introduced to the regulation supposedly the military police signed by Haxhi Shala, in which according to the court they are said to have the right to execute, arrest the battalion commanders, in case of violation of regulations.
Curriqi said that the word "execut," used in that document, is not a good word and can't remember whether there were cases like this somewhere during the war.
But now the size of the lexu is on me, not the right word, not the good word. I don't know they were executed somewhere. I don't know why they wrote it here. You have to ask Hagi not me, bad word. To be executed, I have no answers, but I wonder why they wrote it here. The police have the right to arrest is... question Haxhiun”, the witness said.
Curriqi added that the word "executive" means “to eliminate”.
While, as far as the issue of collaborators is concerned with Serbia, Currici said he was never discussed at weekly meetings at the brigade level.
The chair was also questioned by Thaci's lawyer, Luka Misetiq, and also by Veselin's Ben Emmerson.
Misethic asked the witness about his statement to the KP members and their positions in the leadership of the KLA.
“Chiefs at LPK, Azem Syla, Xhavit Haliti are the main ones in the KLA that are the LPK. When I said that, it was the reality that I didn't want to waste the values of the LPK for the war. I didn't mean for bad, but for good. Let it be known publicly that the LPK members have made this organisation”, the witness said.
While selecting volunteers and the likelihood of having doubts about one of them as an accomplice, the witness said that he never had any doubts or take anyone away from the army.
“I've never had a suspect. I've got everyone who came in. I've got a book about who it was. Never happened to drive someone away, I've taken no one away. I've witnessed this.
The witness stressed that Serbia's associates have not come to the KLA, but have come to those who have wanted to free the country.
Ramiz Qeric was asked by Emmerson on behalf of his client over a meeting he himself had said occurred between Azem Syla, Hashim Thaci, Jakup Krasniqi, Ram Buyes and Wessel.
Emerson said that Wessel cannot remember this meeting. The witness insisted in his statement, saying he was present but did not speak at the meeting.
After that, the chairman of the court announced that the afternoon session of this session will continue with the hearing of a witness testifying to the 56th SPS witness in the process, but which according to him is with protective measures. /Regression/
