US Defence Secretary spoke to Israeli counterpart before Israel attacked Iran

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant earlier Thursday for <x0 regional threats and Iran's destabilizing actions in the Middle East”, according to a Pentagon reading.

The call occurred before Israel carried out an attack within Iran.

The Pentagon's reading makes no mention of Israeli plans to attack, reports CNN, broadcast Clankosova.tv.

Austin also discussed the importance of growing and maintaining the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza civilians, including through the new route from the Ashdod port in Israel”, the report said.

On Thursday evening it was reported that Israel had told the US that it would avenge Iran in the days ahead, according to a senior American official.
