Kosovo Government spokesman Progress Kryeziu has reacted to the Serbian List of Monitoring Cameras in the north, saying the days of the bandits are over and that they are in public security service.

The Serbian list yesterday has claimed that security cameras in public spaces violate the privacy of Serbian citizens and have demanded their immediate departure.

In his response, the Kosovo Government spokesman has reminded the Serbian List, which is backed by Serbia, that the time of bandits turned into terrorists of “North Brigade” and “Civil Protection” is over.

“In the past, Serbian List associates controlled these cameras. And when they had such control, none of them had worked on January 16th 2018, when Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic was killed in northern Mitrovica. Time for bandits turned into terrorists of “North Brigade” and “Civil Protection” is over. All must get used to the rule of law in a democratic republic”, Kryeziu stressed. By contrast, in various Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo, including those in the north of the country, Serbian illegal structures and terrorist organisations “Civil Protection” and “North Brigade” have consistently used surveillance cameras, which have been accessible to Serbia's security institutions. A considerable number of them have been seized by Kosovo Police under suspicion that they have been used to monitor the movements of Kosovo citizens and institutions.
