Bajrami: During Kurt's mandate, the electricity price has been raised twice. This drop of only 8% will not be felt by consumers

The board of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) in Kosovo has approved new electricity tariffs on Tuesday.

The new decision envisions the release for family consumers who spend over 800 kilowatts an hour and for commercial and industrial consumers.

However, the decision has prompted reactions.

Democratic League of Kosovo MP (LDK), Hykmete Bajrami, has voiced disappointment with this decision, emphasising the major electricity price increases that have occurred in the past three years.

According to Bajrami, the price of electricity has increased by more than 100%, and this reduction of only 8% will not be felt by consumers.

It stresses that during the term of Kurti Government, with the support of Vetevendosje, Mr. The RHR has raised the price of electricity twice.

The first “The price for household consumption has been raised for 104% in the high fee and 85% in the low fee for spending on 800 KWh. Later, the second increase has affected all suppliers with a 15% increase,” said Bajrami.

The MP further criticises that despite major increases, the current decrease will be insufficient to compensate for the high costs that have been present so far, adding that the reasons that have been used for previous price hikes today no longer exist.

The ZERE has said it will cut by 8 percent the fee for family consumers who spend over 800 kilowatts, meaning that from 14.45 cents per kilowatt, they will pay 13.29 cents for the day's fee, and from 6.81 cents to 6.26 cents for the night fee.

The cheaper night fee is at 10: 00 a.m.
