At least one person is suspected to have been wounded Monday after a shooting at Haracia, the predominantly Albanian municipality near Skopje.
According to North Macedonia media, unidentified persons have so far fired Kalashnikovs in the direction of Harachina municipality Chairman Ridvan Ibraim.
A member of his security has been injured, the North Macedonia Ministry of Internal Affairs confirms.
The causes of this incident are unknown at the moment.
Gunshots in the direction of Ibraim have come from a moving car, while panic and chaos on the main road in front of Harachina Square, writes Koha.mk portal.
Macedonian media report the presence of numerous policemen at the scene, while Harachina's entrances have been blocked.
Ridvan Ibraim is an official of the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI).
