At the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly around 17:30, the discussion has begun regarding the Kosovo membership report in this organisation. Most MPs who have taken the stand have backed Kosovo's membership. In the end, the report's vote is expected.
Democratic League of Kosovo deputy (LDK), Arben Gashi, part of the Kosovo delegation, received the word.
He said Kosovo has been denied the country in the KiE too long.
Kosovo has long been denied the country in Europe. Today we stand before you as equal, ready to take our place at the Council of Europe. Membership in the KiE is not only a matter of political importance, but also a question of moral motivation for all what they believe in democratic, human-right principles, etc.”.
I ask each of you today to stay on the right side of history, stay close to Kosovo and principles that define our European identity”, Gashi has said.
