Abazovic: EU needs to be more concrete in Kosovo dialogue

Montenegro's former Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic has declared that the European Union must change its approach in mediating dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. He said that “in an interview for '%s' The EU must be more concrete”. “If we always have this kind of very soft policy, we'll talk about the same [...]
If we always have this kind of very soft policy, we'll talk about the same thing after 10 or 20 years. This is a disaster because we have already lost 20 years”, Abazovic said.
It has demonstrated confidence that Kosovo and Serbia “wanted to see a final agreement” and “show that we are no longer a conflict region, but a region of understanding”.
However, Abazovic has acknowledged that it will not be easy to achieve.
Meanwhile, talking about Montenegro's anti-Montenegro vote on Kosovo membership in the KiE, on the Commission for Political Affairs and Democracy at the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, Abazovic stressed that this development is a new reality.
Abazovic said the vote against Kosovo in KiE would be “impossible under his mandate”.
We were very clear in our foreign policy. It was 100% harmonised with European Union foreign policy”, he said further.
Regarding EU enlargement, Abazovic said the integration of the Western Balkans is key.
“is not something that is a favour to us; but investment in Europe's security and future; and anyone who wants to see Europe as a superpower -- a Europe united with all our countries” -- Abazovic added.
