The 54th witness of SPS is witnessing at closed session in Thaci case and others

Unlike the other times that sessions were held in private session, this session is being kept completely closed this time, reports the “Bet on Justice”.

According to the chairman of the court, Charles Smith III, this is being done in defense of the witness, who is on protective measures.

Before the entire session is closed, Judge Smith III issued an oral order concerning accepting audio and video recordings according to 153 statements from the Rule.

The court's “The ZPS has submitted as a document for access to material evidence, audio and video recordings of earlier witnesses' statements accepted under Rule 153, in court decisions F0194 and F02111. After stating these decisions and, as in accordance with statements from Rule 153, the court accepts them in material testing and also instructs the Administrative Office to assign these material evidence of audio and video recordings by setting up numbers of material evidence such as those laid out in statements under the Rule 153<1>, the judge said.

He added that the court further instructs the SPS to make pre-counting statements for such documents or audio and video recordings, not later than April 5, 2024.

Otherwise, the 53rd witness witness, former diplomat Shawn Byrnes, is expected to continue in this court case.

On Thursday, it is expected to continue again with witness hearing 0479. Judge Smith III encouraged the parties to keep in mind that this witness's testimony is completed during Thursday, after he said they would go to a two-week break.

In addition, the court announced that all the accused are present in the courtroom today.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.

The incident against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi is confirmed on October 26, 2020.
