Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Lisa Gashi was hosted today by U.d. The head of the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), Avni Kastrati, to take part in the ASC-organised media conference under regular weekly meetings in terms of the performance of the population registration process.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore (MPJD), in full support of the process of registering the population, family economies and residences -- Recos 2024 -- and in support of the Kosovo Statistics Agency leading the process, has launched the process of recording members of Diaspore online. The online recording of our troop is taking place for the first time, and it's an integrated process on the e-Diaspora platform, which is the initiative of the MPJD to support our fellow countrymen with digitized services, and once to get closer to their country.
Deputy Minister Gashi talked about the importance of online registration of the exile, stressed that the participation of our countrymen in the population registration process is extremely important because he offers us a clear mirror of the distribution of our citizens around the world, and through this a greater opportunity to include them, through the data they offer, in the process of drafting policies, strategies and better services and in terms of their needs.
Beyond the eDiaspora platform, our citizens can register from anywhere in the world, testifying through this census that they are an equal part of our society. The participation of our exile in this process is extremely important as it is for MPJDs as well as the Republic of Kosovo, because for the first time, it offers us a clear mirror for the whereabouts of our countrymen, as well as their bid” Deputy Minister Gashi said.
Gashi stressed that the process of registering Kosovo's population is and remains one of the most important processes for the country. It called for all citizens and members of our Diaspore to become part of this process and once address all the uncertainties they have within the platform. Gashi announced that 180 thousand diaspora members have been registered so far, of which nearly 50,000 have been registered within the platform and diaspora.
Deputy Prime Minister Gashi said that on the part of the MPJD there will be increased activities under diplomatic and consular missions concerning fair and accurate information about the process and how registration through platforms and diaspora, including contact numbers and email addresses where our fellow countrymen can address our institutions for any uncertainty.
Over half a million resident citizens and about 36 percent of all objects have registered in the first two weeks of the Kosovo population registration process, Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) announced on Monday.
ASK Chief Executive Chief Avni Kastrati said at a media conference in Pristina that the process is going “as planned” and “pa major challenges”.
“So far [21 April] has registered 530,000 people, as well as over 36 percent of the facilities in Kosovo. We are talking about the resident population in Kosovo. The staff has stabilised these days, massively started interviews”, he said.
