Veton Surroi denies lobbiing against KLA recognition in Washington

Publicist Veton Surroi has reacted after journalist Baton Haxhiu named him when his deputy The PDK, Xhavit Haliti, said last night in Pressing that a delegation of the Democratic League of Kosovo had gone to Washington, urging US President Bill Clinton not to recognise the KLA. Haxhiu said those who did this [...]
Haxhiu said those who made this request were “Ibrahim Rugova, Pajazi Nushi, Bujar Bukushi, Veton Surroi, Fehmi Agani”.
Surroi has denied such a request has been made by the Kosovo delegation, saying that charge does not stand. He has even said Rugova, Agan and Bukoshi have developed efforts to unify Kosovo's representation, with the KLA's involvement within this representation, Express reports.
My and private position, even public, has been the need for KLA involvement in the negotiations. Several times I have publicly stated that without KLA participation in the negotiating team, the agreement on Kosovo is not possible. Dr. Rugova, Dr. Agan, and Dr. Bukoshi has been developing efforts to unify Kosovo's representation, with KLA involvement within this representation.
The charge against the Kosovo delegation does not stand. I'm doing the explanation for the sake of history, which should be written from the source, not from the bloody speculation. I do it for the two dead members who could explain it to the living, but one such charge is being filed ten years after their death”, Surroi wrote.
By contrast, Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy, who has been a great actor in the Kosovo Liberation Army, Xhavit Haliti, has said in “Pressing” that a delegation of the Democratic League of Kosovo had gone to Washington, urging US President Bill Clinton not to recognise the KLA.
“There have been very evil efforts of Kosovo institutions that have gone to Washington to President Clinton have asked them not to recognise the KLA”, Haliti said.
Later, journalist Dukagjin Gorani at the studio asked who they were.
They were named by journalist Baton Haxhiu.
There were Ibrahim Rugova, Pajazi Nushi, Bujar Bukushi, Veton Surroi, Fehmi Agani”, Haxhiu said.
