Turkish KFOR soldier in Kosovo dies asleep

Today, a Turkish Army soldier has passed away while he was asleep.

He was part of the NATO-led KFOR mission at the Gjilan Interconnecting Monitoring Team.

The exact cause of his death has not yet been confirmed.

“The soldier served in a consequential manner and contributed to his daily service in KFOR's continued efforts towards lasting security in Kosovo. His devotion and commitment to the mission will always be remembered and honored. The family of the late soldier” has been notified, said the communique.

KFOR Commander Major General ãozkan Ulitaş has expressed his heartfelt condolences.

Explore my sincere condolences for this tragic loss. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the late soldier. His loss is felt throughout KFOR's entire community. We will honour his memory through our steadfast devotion to the KFOR mission”, Ulutaş said.
