Pristina's Municipal Assembly has failed to elect the new leader, independent candidate Fehmi Cupina.
30 members participated in the vote, 10 already committed 20 votes. The vote on the leader's election is continuing in the second round.
Under the direction of Nora Kelmendi, this extraordinary meeting for the appointment of chairman of the assembly has been called by the Communist advisers of the Vetevendosje Movement in Pristina.
Gzim Svecla from the Vetevendosje (LVV) Movement during his speech said LVV will not have candidates for the Parliament's chairmanship.
“Sic is now seeing how long this is the situation as a consequence of LDK. As we have publicly declared, the LVV does not have its own candidate, but in order to move the processes we give up this process, but we will support the candidate...”, Svechla said.
And the chief of PDK Leutrim Retkoceri said in protest they will not give a speech.
“In protest we will not give speech”, Retkocer said.
Meanwhile, Gezim Mehmeti from the AKR nominated Fehmi Cupina as the candidate for chairmanship.
“Based on the belief that the Municipal Parliament has not held any regular session for some time, and overcoming blockades in Fehmi Kupina organ proposes that it be chosen to lead the Parliament. I invite all parties to vote on my” proposal, Mehmeti has said.
