German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, at a meeting of Dresden's residents on February 29th, presented a new argument not to send the long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
Scholz has said that Taurus, the maximum-range 500-mile missile, is a weapon that, if used improperly, can hit a specific target somewhere in Moscow.
This is why I'm speaking very diplomaticly, others also”, he added.
The German Chancellor stressed that if Germany were to hand over Taurus, it would have to be directly involved in launching the missile and thinking it is impossible.
Earlier this week, Scholz has said he was strongly opposed to Ukraine's supply of Taurus missiles, citing the risk of bringing Germany into conflict.
Ukraine has repeatedly sought stronger weapons from the West, which has hesitated because it can escalate war.
