Roth reacts after Vuciq's threats: Serbia at the helm can enter the EU

Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq eventually tried to elect the West between Kosovo and Serbia. In a presentation yesterday at an academy, Vuciq hinted that if the West chooses Kosovo, they will exploit the case, “otherwise, as they experienced in 25 years ago”. A statement that was seen as a direct threat to Kosovo. [...]
German Bundestag Foreign Commission Chairman Michael Roth has reminded the Serbian president of what the prospect of membership in the European Union means. He gave Vuciqi rights only in that Serbia cannot enter the EU until he leads him.
President Vuciq misunderstood something. The prospect of EU membership is not only for Serbia, but for all Western Balkan states, including Kosovo. There is no such thing as “or Serbia or Kosovo”. But Vuciq is right, with him at the helm there is no way for Serbia to enter the EU”, Roth wrote in an X post.
Meanwhile, the American emissary for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, from his visit to Montenegro, has identified Serbia as a state in the Western Balkan region that is helping to preserve stability and is sending messages to Kosovo.
What we say is that Montenegro must continue to be pro-European oriented. In this period when three neighbouring states are helping us to maintain stability... and there is one who is not working on it but is sending messages to Kosovo, we are aware that we should be focused on Montenegro's progressive path”, said Escobar, who acknowledged that Russia's Malaj influence is very present in the Balkans.
