German Ambassador to Kosovo Jörn Rohde has said that Kosovo must carry out its homework to join the Council of Europe, despite its close membership.
So said Rohde in the context of the question asked that “could the EU show its power in the region and what are the decisions you should make as part of the EU and the people in the region?”, at the “Bridge of the Western Balkans”.
“Membership in the Council of Europe is the closest, we have postponed for this last year. We know how important it is. Because the Council of Europe is in a different position, there has been dramatization with Russia's suspension. And now, with the membership of Kosovo, near the gate and we know the conditions, but Kosovo has homework, which it has to do, and I think that when I say the right decisions”, it added Rohde.
As for the European Union's functions in Ryon, Rohde has suggested that <x0veglas or their tools are the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, the Berlin Process, the Franco-German Plan, the Ohrid Agreement, or the Institute of Association”.
The relevant European Union tools in the region are like: The dialogue, the Berlin Process, the bilate commitment, we have QUINT, and we've developed ways to increase progress. I love myself like “micro manager”, we have the Franco-German plan, then the Ohrid Agreement, the Association Statistics. In the Berlin process we developed ideas for the bilateral basis, to push things forward”, he added.
The two friendly countries -- Kosovo and Germany during the past period -- have held parliamentary diplomatic meetings with the arrival of the Commission for Defence or even the visit of the Southeast European Group to Kosovo. As well as visiting the chief parliament in Germany recently.
Germany and Kosovo have had so many ticket visits. When we are talking about parliamentary diplomacy, last year we had the Defence Commission and two weeks ago we had the Southeast European Group was in Kosovo. Then, Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca has been in Germany. We have a very high level of engagement. Even QUINT diplomatic advisers have been here several times. When you have ideas and tools ready, you have to use them. If you were to add D, the right time decision”, has added Rohde.
