Rohde: I fully agree with Knaus, Serbia is contradictory that requires Association, opposes Kosovo's membership in KiE

Germany's Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has agreed with Gerald Knaus by the European Initiative for Stability, who told Serbia's Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabiq that it is contradictory when it requires the establishment of the Association of Serb-run municipalities and, meanwhile, rejects Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe. Knaus wrote on Saturday [...]
Knaus wrote on Saturday that Brnabyq is demanding from Kosovo fulfilling a pledge that is not related to the country's membership in the KiE.
No member of the KiE - including Serbia - was ever told that there is only one way to protect minority rights”, he wrote.
The German ambassador agreed.
Full agreement. Brussels/Ohri agreements need full implementation. Failure to do so harms the” dialogue process, Rohde wrote.
Knaus said Brnabiq says Kosovo does not belong to the KiE even if it establishes the association, stressing that “this position is contradiction”.
“Serbia cannot ignore an agreement pledging that Serbia will not oppose Kosovo's membership in any international organisation and then argue that, because of the same agreement, Kosovo should be blocked”, he wrote at “X”.
That, Knaus said, undermines the dialogue process.
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq and Parliament Speaker in Belgrade Ana Brnabiq have warned that Serbia will leave the Council of Europe if Kosovo becomes a member.
