The Kosovo government has ordered the Cadastral Agency to implement the Constitutional Court's decision to recognise the Decani Monastery's right to 24 hectares. Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that this decision has been made to be taken as a condition for Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe.
At the Government meeting Wednesday, he has said the Government of Kosovo was ahead of two options: To meet this condition and to have Kosovo accepted into the Council of Europe or to remain without membership. According to him, the decision was made “driven by sound reason”. Kurti has said the decision continues to call it harmful, but has added that accession to the KiE would be historic victories.
“Mbi all required a reasonable decision, unfortunately not fair in its capacity. But in spite of this to achieve a very large goal that we owe to the state that opens unprecedented opportunities, we must step forward with caution and responsibility as an independent and sovereign state. So today we have told Kosovo's cadastral agency to implement the Constitutional decision, while Foreign Affairs Minister Donica Grovalla has sent verbal notes to the Council of Europe”, Kurti has declared.
