Donald Trump will not give money to help Ukraine fight Russia if he wins the presidency again, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said after meeting with him.
Orban, who is supporting his long-standing ally's attempt to return to the White House, met with Trump, the presidential candidate, in Florida on Friday.
“He will not give a penny in the Ukraine-Russia war, and for that reason the war will end”, the Hungarian prime minister told state television Sunday evening. “As clearly, Ukraine alone cannot stand”
If Americans don't give money and weapons, but even Europeans, then this war will end. And if Americans don't give money, Europeans aren't able to finance this war themselves and then the war will end.
Orban has refused to send weapons to Kiev and has maintained close economic ties with Moscow since Russia began its full invasion in February 2022. He met for the last time with Vladimir Putin in October in China, despite EU efforts to isolate Moscow.
A statement from Trump's campaign did not mention Ukraine, saying the pair discussed issues affecting the two countries, including their respective border security.
