Sweden is already officially a member of NATO military alliance.
Swedish Prime Minister Wolf Christersson was in Washington this Friday to deliver Sweden's final NATO accession documents.
If Sweden is attacked, other coalition members will be forced to protect it.
Speaking after Sweden's accession, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared that NATO's alliance is now stronger and bigger than ever.
Meanwhile, Secretary General NATO, through a statement, Jens Stoltenberg named Sweden's membership as historical.
“After over 200 years of non-admission, Sweden now enjoys the protection granted under Article 5 the final guarantee of Allied freedom and security. Sweden brings with it capable armed forces and a first-class defence industry. Sweden's accession makes NATO stronger, Sweden safer and the entire Alliance safer --” -- he stressed.
