After a serious illness, Albanian Bajchinca Brestovci, former handballist, karateist and athlete, passed away.
It was family members who announced the death of Albanian, who was the leader of the KOK in recent years and professor at the UP.
KOK President Ismet Krasniqi through a telegram of comfort has comforted family and the sports community for the life of EU KOK member Albania Baychinca-Brestovci.
Dear Baychinca-Brestovci family,
With deep sorrow, we received news of the life-sharing of the great sports contributor, Albanian Baychinca-Brestovci.
Albania was a member of the KOK Executive Board on the last two mandates, making valuable contributions to the entire Olympic movement, promoting Olympic values and advancing sports.
She was chairman of the commission “Women and Sports”, where was the voice of women, which pushed them for their rights in sports, a member of the Commission for Categorizing Sports, Sportsmen and trainers, etc.
Bajcinca-Brestovci was also a professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, while during his 24-year career as a sport was also involved in karate, athletics and handball.
The Albanian, noted for overcoming challenges, was not able to overcome the serious illness she had been suffering from for several years.
Its separation from life will leave a big void in younger generations, especially the girls for whom it was inspired, how hard work, commitment, and professionalism can be achieved.
On behalf of the Kosovo Olympic Committee Executive Board and the entire Olympic movement in Kosovo, I express my deepest condolences to her family, sportsmen and numerous friends.
Ismet Krasniqi
Kosovo Olympic Committee President
