Les says Serbia can pay Serbian salaries, pensions in Kosovo in euro

Professor Timothy Les of the Center for Geopoliticals at Cambridge University stated in an interview for Serbian media that he does not think the ban on the dinar in Kosovo radically threatens the position of Serbs living in Kosovo, who, he believes, can use the euro and continue living much the same way so far, [...]
“This issue is not so practical because there is a solution, it is more of a matter of the Serbs' indignation to accept the movement of Kosovo, which at the symbolic level sends the message that Kosovo is not part of Serbia, and the evidence of that is that Kosovo does not use the dinar, which Serbs certainly do not accept, especially Serbs living in northern Kosovo and who want to remain part of Serbia and who see themselves as part of Serbia”, says Les.
It shows that the US and Europeans have clearly expressed their position that they do not accept the unilateral obligation of the euro and the effective ban on the use of the dinar in daily financial flows, but have told Kosovo to negotiate this within the framework of dialogue mediated by the European Union.
