Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has indicated that Presevo Albanians Bujanovac and Medvedja are not being forgotten nor vulnerable.
That's what Kurt said in his Facebook account.
The “Albanians of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc are no longer being forgotten and vulnerable. They now enjoy our increased care and support, each year and more”, Kurti wrote.
The government chief, except that he said the Valley Albanians have the support of Kosovo, he outlined work in the last three years in the Valley.
“With our government Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac have a separate and regular budget line at Kosovo's Annual Budget. In 2022 we allocated 2 million euros. This budgeted year we have 3m euros. Our attention and assistance were not lacking before. In our first rule, in 2020, we have allocated half a million euros in the face of three Albanian majority municipalities with the Codov-19 pandemic. The following year, when the Presevo Community was hit by floods, we shared 100 thousand euros in support for overcoming and recovery of damages”.
“The preservation of identity, the cultural mosaic of traditions, is essential to the existence of Albanians there, given the extent of extreme discrimination they face. Therefore, in 2022 we signed a memorandum of co-operation with the Albanian National Council. Through this co-operation so far has been supported by 75 different projects and initiatives”.
“at the same time education is key to the education of generations and the learning of history, so we provided Albanian-language textbooks for Albanian students for 2022 and 2023. And for 107 students, we secured 107 scholarships of research”.
We supported the representatives of Albanians in the development of visits to the United States and the European Union institutions, with the aim of international awareness about state discrimination against Albanians, violation of national minorities' rights, and lacking addresses. As a result, these issues arose for the first time as a topic of discussion at the American Senate”.
Albania's “Jurists from Presevo Valley who have residence permits in Kosovo enabled them to apply for a jurisdictional exam. Health professionals have access to five-year labour licenses in health institutions here in the country. Graduated medical students quotas for professional schooling and financial support at the same level as specialists from Kosovo”.
“also works on the final regulation of the legal status of people without documents. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has compiled and published the application form for permanent residence under extraordinary circumstances for citizens not documented by Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac in the Republic of Kosovo. While the Kosovo State Bill is under investigation in the Assembly. It will mark an important step towards facilitating the profit of the citizenship of our Republic, as well as the Albanians of Valley”.
“With justice, zeal and equal distribution, and with brotherly and national treatment, we will always be address, home and side for Albanians in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc”.
