Kosovo Democratic Party Chairman (PDK) Memli Krasniqi has commemorated the 25th anniversary of the intervention of the North-Atlantic Alliance in Kosovo as a historic moment for Kosovo Albanians through whom, along with the KLA war, ended the Balkan butcher's occupier Slobodan Milosevic.
He has said that from March 24th 1999, for 78 days, the NATO bombings stopped the Serb genocide in Kosovo and paved the way for our final victory, along with the men and women of the KLA, in realising our people's long efforts for freedom and independence.
Now, as we look at the progress we've made as a country, the challenges we've overcome, and the dreams we've accomplished in building a state we remind our dear friends who were there for us in our darkest hours. Therefore, gratitude for the US-led NATO forces is permanent and unforgettable. Today, Kosovo stands as a testament to the power of unity, courage and stability of the democratic world,” has written Krasniqi on Facebook.
He has expressed regret that the 25th anniversary of NATO's airstrikes finds Kosovo without any official institutional manifestations, which he calls another wrong action by Kurti government, disseminating ingratitude to permanent allies.
“Anyway, from the heart, wishing that we too soon be part of it, for the NATO alliance we have only one word: Thank you, ” Krasniqi finished.
