Hoxha appreciates the security situation, mentions Banjska and police kidnapping

During his report to the Commission for Security Affairs, he cited some of the most serious criminal cases, including the attack on Banjska and the kidnapping of three border police officials.
The general situation in the Republic of Kosovo, based on current developments in the country, the region and wider, is estimated to be calm, however, in the northern part of Kosovo even further, the security situation remains fragile further. Police during 2023 have faced a complex security environment taken on the basis of the dynamics of security threats such as criminal incidents, terrorist attacks, violent protests, and hybrid threats. It is noteworthy to mention some of the most serious criminal cases during 2023. The May 26th 2023 attacks on police, citizens and journalists, the May 29th attack on police and KFOR members, the kidnapping of three border police officials on June 14th, and the terrorist attack on Kosovo police”, Hoxha said, Clankosova.tv reported.
“Along 2023, police have managed over 500 protests in the northern part of Kosovo alone, numerous cases of smuggling and transborder crime, the case of the robbery in Suhareka, the case of murder in the village of Bernice, the destruction of drug labs and the production of”, Hoxha said, Klankosova.tv reported.
However, Hoxha said Kosovo police, despite the challenges, have managed to successfully manage the security situation in the country.
