Full announcement:
Today about 30.03.2024 we have received an emergency call from Bajram Currie Police and the Albanian Civil Emergency Centre for Help in a mountainous accident at the top of the Jezera.
With a quick co-ordination and gathering of initial information with Albania's Mountain Rescue Research Service and all the authorities of the Albanian state, a USKMK team has launched a mountain rescue operation in the coordinates submitted.
According to the first information, a Croatian citizen had slipped from the mountain site very close to the top of the Jezerca towards the cliff, and the other group of Bosnians had no communication with the victim, but had access to the wave and informed authorities of help.
Our team, together with Albanian state police and members of the mountain rescue search service, have launched a rescue operation from the Valbona Valley by being transported by helicopter to a nearby point where there was a chance of landing.
At first, the approach was made to the 1981-born L.Z. victim, who had suffered deadly injuries and was found without signs of life, then carried to the helicopter for transport to the nearest hospital.
The operation, on the other hand, has continued with access to the rest of the group, which were confined to a dangerous position (seven citizens, 4 citizens of Croatia and 3 of Serbia).
Once we reach the lock, our rescuers have built a secure rope security system, releasing them to safety (technical evacuation), and from there they have been evacuated to Montenegro's Vutha village.
In the Montenegrin part, co-ordination has been made with Montenegro's Mountain Rescue Service “G SS Crna Gora” and the operation is successfully completed after 10 hours.
We express condolences to the late beekeeper, and we thank all participants.
Peach: It is important that dialogue does not cease, even small steps should be welcomed
