The Justice Ministry announces that this budget will be used to upgrade IML spaces that were damaged as a result of last November's fire incident, but at the same time it will be intervened in the entire IML facility, increasing overall security aimed at preventing such events in the future.
“This renovation will be realised on the basis of the project prepared by the MD Engineering Department, which includes recommendations provided by the Pristina University Commission for the assessment of damage and increased security of the target”, the Justice Ministry reportedly announced.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Justice has provided details as to what the key points will be invested.
“The main devices in which it will be invested will be installing the anti-fire system, installing the new electricity system, establishing central ventilation, improving conditions and functioning of autopsy halls, and resemination of internal work spaces in line with standards and better international practices”, the report follows.
With this investment, the IML hopes to create a safe environment for work and preserve important forensic evidence that will enable the process of accrediting forensic services as soon as possible.
Otherwise, for the fire that had erupted at the Law Medicine Institute, the Prosecutor in Pristina has launched investigations.
“U announce that, with the information received by Kosovo Police concerning the fire incident at the Law Medicine Institute in Pristina, the State Prosecutor has come to the scene along with all relevant units to undertake all necessary investigative actions”, the prosecution had declared.
