Discussions about the Kosovo Central Bank regulation, where the use of the dinar in Kosovo is prohibited, will continue next week within the dialogue in Brussels. In the ruling party, they say discussions are under way to find forms for the overall implementation of the dinar decision, not to change. Meanwhile, opposition parties consider the government's approach to this topic wrong, until it criticises that Kosovo's internal issues have made the topic of dialogue with Serbia in Brussels.
LVV MP Victory Pacolli says of Kosova Preis, that the BQC regulation is irreversible and that the decision on the dinar will not be changed.
According to her, discussions in Brussels are being conducted only to find ways to overcome the difficulties Serb citizens in Kosovo have presented.
Now the decision is made and the Bank's decision is irreversible, because it's an independent institution and we can't intervene or change. Talks are being made to find alternatives to implement the decision and not to change it... The alternatives are to find ways that citizens who have faced difficulties not having them and to implement the problem-free decision”, Pacolli says.
But the MP of The PDK, Ferat Shala, has criticised the Government of Kosovo that Kosovo's internal issues have made the point in the Brussels dialogue.
According to him, the dinar issue must return within institutions and find a transition solution for Serbian citizens in Kosovo.
Kosovo's “Government outside any political, institutional, legislative, legal, domestic issues has carried them to Brussels. The dinar issue has had to be brought back, resolved within our institutions, within the legislative mandate, and not carried as an international problem. It would take accountability to all those who have brought this situation so that the dinar problem can be applied for negotiations in Brussels, and to sanction Kosovo, to sanction its citizens without any right. This is as a result of poor management policies even on the BQK political board, the BQK management and government policy led by Prime Minister Kurti”, Shala says.
Critical is AAK MP Time Kadrijaj, who says of Kosova Prees, that although the ban on the use of the dinar is the right decision, the executive has erred that it has not been co-ordinated with international partners.
When the country is in a stable situation, it would be good to have a deal, or inform the institutions. However, it is the right, constitutional decision, because just like any other country, Kosovo has the right to have its own currency that is euro for us. But where it slipped is that it has not been co-operated and has not been interacted with even our allies, whether it is allowing a time period to be adopted in this process, and it should not be allowed to allow the dinar issue to be the subject of dialogue in Brussels”, Kadrijaj says.
Despite meetings in the past two weeks, Kosovo and Serbia have not found agreement on the dinar issue.
After this week's meeting, Kosovo chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi said the sides' proposals on the dinar issue are still far apart.
According to him, the Kosovo side has issued a very constructive proposal allowing financial support to go to the final users, without being affected at any moment by the CEC regulation and legislation in force.
