Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi and Serbia's chief negotiator, Petar Petkov, are expected to meet in Brussels today.
Last week, the European Union indicated that the topic of discussion at this meeting would be the regulation of Kosovo's Central Bank over the Serbian dinar, though from the osova government have consistently stated that the issue will not be discussed in Brussels.
The day before this meeting, President Vjosa Osmani spoke of the dinar.
She has said that the issue of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo should be resolved urgently and that there is already compliance with part of the American proposal for the issue.
According to her, the ideal would be if an agreement was reached for her in Brussels today, within the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, at the level of chief negotiators.
She has said it is very positive “that the international community, at the top of the United States, agrees not to have the dinar flow to Kosovo”.
However, prior to the meeting between the chief negotiators, European Union diplomacy chief Josep Borrell that Kosovo and Serbia have achieved very limited progress, until it has indicated it regrets that the agreement he says was difficult to reach has not been implemented.
Borrell has stressed that prior to the implementation of the agreement, it has not been as expected and that pressure will continue on the parties to move forward.
