China sends dozens of fighter planes over Taiwan

Taiwan's Defence Ministry said 32 Chinese Army combat aircraft have been detected around the island in the last 24 hours.

This is the second highest number of Chinese butterflies detected on the island of self-government this year.

Taiwan's National Defence Ministry also said that five Chinese Navy ships around Taiwan have been detected in the last 24 hours.

Thirteen <x0) aircraft have crossed the middle line in Taiwan Strait”, added in the statement.

This line is the unofficial border between China and Taiwan.

Taiwan's Armed Forces have <x0-monitored the situation and deployed a patrol plane, Navy ships, and missile defence systems in response to specific activities”.

In late January and early February, this minister had detected 33 Chinese fighter planes around the island record number of aircraft detected this year.

The demarcation of these aircraft followed the 13 January presidential election, which won the current vice president, Lai Ching, which Beijing opposes.

Last month, Taiwan said 11 Chinese battleships were detected around the island the largest number this year as Taipei and Beijing crashed over a deadly fishing ship incident. The Chinese fishing ship, with four on board, sank on February 14 near Taiwan while being pursued by Taiwanese coastal guards. During this incident, two people were killed and two others were saved.

This incident occurred when tensions between China and Taiwan are high.

China considers Taiwan part of it and does not rule out the possibility of one day taking over even by force.
