Charged for driving terrorism: I see my future as a doctor, and I like to be known, not as a terrorist.

The accused of pushing terrorism, Liridon Beqiri said his future is viewed by both doctor-fiziotherapist and thus wants to be recognised, not as terrorist or accused of terrorism.

Beqiri at the March 4th 2024 session had pleaded guilty to criminal acts “Push to terrorism” and possession without permission, so procedures have been set aside for it, reports the “Justice Trust”.

I had prayed to the Court for my future. I see it as a doctor, both a physical therapist and chiropratic, so my pleasure was known, and not as a terrorist or an accusation of terrorism”, said accused Beqiri.

That statement, he did at the Constitutional Court in Pristina on Wednesday, at the session where parties present the circumstances both heavy or easy-hearted, which affect the type or height of the sentence's appointment.

According to Beqiri, by the time the offense had taken place, he had not known the weight since a gun photo would be charged with terrorism. He said he has repented and asked the court to pronounce lower sentences against him.

The accused Beqiri also said he should not be taken an example for the actions made.

I publicly say both about my people and my youth.... Don't tell me what I've done because they're looking for a future, don't take it as an example, because they're looking for a future that's going to come off and they're going to need what's going to happen to me who's going to be called... they've been thrilled that your father has terrorist or an accusation of terrorism”, accused Beqiri said.

Similarly, special prosecutor Fikrije Feyzullahu said that the guilty's admission underscores the regret of the accused Beqiri.

The fact that the accused has pleaded guilty to two criminal acts according to the indictment is not controversial, a circumstance that by law is assessed on the court's appointment of type and the height of punishment because indirectly admitting guilt implies even repentance in proportion to the commission of criminal acts”, prosecutor Fejzullahu said.

According to her, extenuating circumstances should be valued as such but not overestimated.

Prosecutor Fejzullahu said that considering that the accused Beqiri was a student, positive activities would be expected, which in concrete cases he had taken dangerous action. She has asked the court that even the difficult circumstances be taken into account.

According to Feyzullah, the actions of the accused Beqiri for the society around him were dangerous, since around him the way and where the criminal acts were committed were gathered and motivated by other indictees in this case, all of whom belonged to a new age, where these circumstances weigh down the position of accused Beqiri.

On the other hand, the defender of the accused Beqiri, lawyer Veton Rrecaj, said his protected guilty plea had expressed deep remorse, demanding that the court take this as a comforting circumstance.

Similarly, the lawyer Racaj demanded that, while measuring his sentence, he takes into account legal provisions for measuring and easing the punishment so that his defender can pronounce a minimum sentence with which the goal would be reached.

Otherwise, Besart Vesaj, Ernes Beqiri, Arghend Hoti and Altin Salihu are also charged with being acquitted at the initial session held on March 4th 2024.

According to the indictment set up on 24 January 2024, accused Liridon Beqiri, Besart Veselalaj, Ernes Beqiri, Arghend Hoti and Altin Salihu, from the unknown period of time and ongoing co-ordination, have distributed and enabled the conveying of messages to others in the conduct of terrorist acts.

With this, accused in co-ordination are accused of committing criminal work “Postponing on terrorist activity” by Article 134 regarding KPRK Article 31.

While, according to the second device of the indictment, accused Liridon Beqiri and Besart Veseyaj of unproven and ongoing date, they have held in ownership, control or unauthorized possession of weapons contrary to the applicable law.
