Hoxha said the project envisions the establishment of a special director for Pristina with “a unique” structure, including traffic units, rapid reaction units and investigative units,
Our project relates to the new police structure that we approved last year. And in the context of this structure we have envisioned that within the framework of the regional directorate in Pristina, we have founded a special Police Director for the capital, for Pristina. It will have a unique structure. The director of this directorship will account for regional director and deputy director of the Regional Directorate in Pristina. This director will have more police capacity. There will be a separate traffic unit, there will be a separate fast response unit or operational support unit; there will be unique units of investigation for all three Pristina police stations, there will be planning units, a spokesperson and there will be capacities in order to meet challenges Pristina has as the capital, and as a city heavily charged with criminal activity and major dynamic development and attendedness of people. This has been our perspective”, he said.
Hoxha said some services for the Capital Police have already unified, Express reports.
We have some of the services unified. For example, we had a supportive service in Vranjevc, a support service downtown, one south. We have made one, a common communications center, we have unified several” units, he said.
Police Director warned that “will have an increase in police numbers in this particular director”.
The goal was to give Pristina more potential and unique structure, so that the responsibility for security to fall on a director, not on three police station commanders, then even the way of reporting and taking responsibility will be more direct”, Hoxha said. “We will aim to complete these structures this year so that we can see the results of the work this year”.
