Bulgaria sends 100 troops to Kosovo

Bulgaria will launch a military contingent of about 100 soldiers in Kosovo, within the framework of NATO mission KFOR. The ceremony of sending the military contingent to Kosovo will take place in the town of Yamboli today. They will land in Kosovo during the coming weeks.
“Contingjenti has completed training at the 42nd Mechanised Battalion, Yambol and officially has been declared combat ready by the Defence Ministry”, the announcement said.
Currently, Bulgaria has about 48 soldiers in Kosovo. That number will rise to about 150.
KFOR has a total of 4,443 troops from 28 countries. The number of troops increased since tensions in May last year.
