Bislimia in Greece: Challenges facing Kosovo on the road to EU are more external than within the country

Asked on this panel how real the possibility of EU membership by 2030, the deputy prime minister stressed that there should be a standardised process of assessment for the entire region, in terms of implementing reforms and the road forward to the EU.
But, Bislimi said that in the case of Kosovo, the challenges emerging are more external than stemming from within the country.
Our country follows to remain committed to implementing reforms and achieving European standards”.
Speaking of the geostrategic importance of the Western Balkan region, as well as the importance of enlargement, Bislim said that with the visa liberalisation process already complete and achieved, Kosovo follows work on other and equally important trajectorys for the country, and especially the path towards the European Union.
The Republic of Kosovo has shown caution and preparation in this process, analyzing and sectors of areas through which we are mostly witnessing that we are ready, advanced rapid progress and deserve concrete steps away from”.
The theme of this panel's discussion was “Western Balkans and EU Enlargement 2030- Dream or Reality?” where Bislimi was along with counterparts from the region and also representatives from Slovenia, Secretary of State for European Affairs Marko Stucin and Greece's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Papadopoulos, as the prime minister's office reports.
This event was organised by Eliamep, in co-operation with the Black Strategic Forum. Following the discussion panel, a reception was organised in the margins of the event, where at the invitation from Greece's Foreign Affairs Minister Georgios Gerapetritis, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi participated together and with other personalities from the event and panel”, said at the end of the announcement.
