Serbian heads of state are already trying to increase pressure on the Council of Europe member states not to give Kosovo the vote for membership.
FAZ journalist Michael Martens has quoted a statement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who has said Serbia will leave the Council of Europe if Kosovo is accepted. Martens asked if the West would consider it a trap, or would it fall?
The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Violet von Cremon, has reacted to this, saying it is a trap for Serbia and has said Serbia will certainly abandon the Council of Europe.
The head of Serbia's Parliament, Ana Brnabyq, has reacted to this, saying Kosovo has still established the Association of Serb-run municipalities, which European partners, as Brnabyq says, is a prerequisite for progress in membership.
Brnabyq asks that “have lied to our European partners and others?
She has recently said that Serbia does not make “blof” and “if the Council of Europe violates the statue and its values you don't really need to be part of that hypocrisy and absurd”.
