NATO's bombings on the Serbian state lasted for 78 days. But before everything started, the U.S. forces needed an interpreter who would translate information from Albanian into English. And this job was entrusted to the Albanian from US-based Kumanovo, Ayaz Emin. The next tv1 was brought exclusively to the Albanian confession that helped NATO would bomb the Serbian army.
It was on the verge of joining the Atlantic Battalion.
But a call from the U.S. Army changed his mind.
This is Ayaz Emini, who has joined the American forces since early 99.
This after an operation NATO was on the verge of starting against the Serbian state, which was committing war crimes in Kosovo.
But before everything started, the Americans needed an experienced translator.
I received the offer at the same time, after I had the experience of translators, because American troops needed qualified translators, and I changed my mind and joined the American Army”, was expressed by Ayaz Emine.
Amy adds that she was looking forward to the day the bombing began.
But they were first subjected to military training.
After our exercises, we traveled to the American base in Germany, from Germany to Albania, Rinas. This is where I stayed for the first 10 days, then the U.S. Special Forces came looking for me and I joined them, we were a group of six people, me and five Special Forces soldiers, and we moved to Kukes”, Amyn declared.
Ayaz Amine had long been working as an interpreter in American courts.
So professional experience was useful to American forces during the bombing.
Thus, the information that the Albanian translated from Kumanovo went to the general, Wesley Clark.
During our stay in Kukes, our job was to get information from UCK's observer groups in Kosovo, through General Codusy Lame, then I translated it, we had topographic maps on the walls of our offices, we worked on it, and then it became co-ordination of coordinates... and then it was verified and given to General Hendrix, and then the information was passed to General Wesley Clark in Brussels”, Amy said.
Ayaz Emini recalls the conversations he had with the American general who led NATO bombings.
“During his conversation with General John Hendrix, he himself told me that my greatest wish is to get on infantry and go to Belgrade and get Milosevic himself, that's how angry he was with him”, he said.
After 78 days of bombing, Kosovo was finally free.
This led NATO peacekeeping forces to join Kosovo.
And with them, Ayaz Emine.
The first “We spent the first night in Sueva, with an unspoiled house where it seemed to have been the base of the Serbian forces because they saw the food and signs they had left behind. Then there was a tank bombed by NATO”, former translator Amyn has indicated.
NATO bombings, which started on 24 March, lasted until June 10th 1999.
While this was the first time NATO had used the military force without UN Security Council approval.
