At least 16 people have been killed and dozens have been injured in the wake of fears and rocket attacks in Ukrainian regions of Odessa and Vinitissia, local officials said on 15 March. Meanwhile, in the Russian border region of Belgorod and a refinery in the Kalugla region are reportedly again targeted by fears and rockets.
Russian rocket attacks in Odesa left 14 people dead and injured at least 46 others, the region's governor, Olech Kiper, said in a post in the telegram.
“As a result of Russian missile attacks, 14 people have been killed, including local residents, a doctor and rescue workers”, Kiper said, erasing that seven rescue workers were among the 46 injured.
The Ukrainian Attorney General's Office said it has opened cases for these attacks, adding that there is damage to civilian infrastructure, buildings and vehicles.
Earlier in the day, a fearful attack on a building in Winnista killed two people and injured four others.
In Russia, the state holding the three-day presidential elections, was reported for alleged Ukrainian attacks with fears and rockets in the Belgorod border region.
This region, according to local officials, has been the target of Ukrainian attacks for days. Recent attacks have injured two people and caused damage to several residential buildings, even preventing the voting process, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on the telegram.
Meanwhile, the Telegram Base Channel, which is linked to Russian security services, reported fire at a refinery in the Kaluga region. The fire was reportedly caused by the collapse of a threat from Russian air systems.
A Ukrainian intelligence source told Reuters that the attack on the refinery in Kalugla has caused damage and behind the attack lies Ukraine's military intelligence service. This claim could not be confirmed independently.
In recent days, Ukrainian fears have targeted energy infrastructure in Russian regions, including oil refinerys in the Rzazan regions, Nizhni Novogrid and Leningrad. / REL/
