Prime Minister Edi Rama, who was present at the Centre for Opening and Dialog, where the exhibition of 50 photos titled “Ukraina, a war crime”, spoke of the importance of the visit of the Ukrainian leader and summit, where leaders of Southeast Europe will participate.
But, on the other hand, there is a visit that will peak with a summit of Southeast European countries for Ukraine, where we will have a significant number of leaders in this area of Europe and where President Zelensky is, of course, with us as co-organizers for this activity that he has in the present context, according to me, a special key”, Rama said, broadcast REL.
Rama said Albania stands side by side with Ukraine, a state that for almost two years is facing the unprotested invasion that Russian President Vladimir Putin began.
According to him, Albania, along with all alliances of countries that have chosen to look to the future and build together a future where every country and every individual has the right to freedom, and Ukraine has the right to live as an equal state.
The prime minister did not give the date, but Radio Free Europe teaches that Ukraine's president will arrive in Tirana on February 27th, while the summit will be held a day later on February 28th. There are still no details of which Southeast European leaders will be part of this summit, while during Turkey's visit to Ankara days ago, Rama said Turkey's President, Rexhep Tayyip Erdogan, will address the summit via a video message.
“On the summit and Turkey are invited and I am grateful that the president has agreed to address the summit through a direct link from his office, since it is unable to physically”, Rama said during his visit to Turkey.
Holding this summit, Rama announced 22 January during a conversation with reporters in Skopje after attending a conference on the Western Balkans' economic growth plan with the help of the European Union.
Otherwise, the exhibition, which opened in the premises of the Albanian prime minister with 50 photos titled “Ukraina, a war crime”, brings evidence of Russian aggression on the Ukrainian people. Photos are part of the book with the same title as a group of photoreporters from around the world.
Albania, a NATO member, has imposed sanctions on Russia due to Ukraine's invasion and over two years of war has offered assistance to Kiev.
