Ymer for Hovenier's statements: Not good news for Kosovo

Former President Visar Ymer has said that the US ambassador's statements to Kosovo, Jeffrey Havenier, are not new and that he has told them earlier.

The “have been said earlier that the United States, Ambassador Havenier, and the entire establiment dealing with US foreign policy does not view Kosovo as a partner, do not have co-operation with the Government of Kosovo”, Ymer said at RTV Dukaagjini.

According to Ymer, one of the consequences will be a type of “abstenption” so long as we have a government like this one and with this attitude, the United States will have no energy to deal with Kosovo.

“It's not good news, although it's not new, we've already known that two weeks ago”, the analyst said further, adding that “reconfirming” of the Hovenier indicates that “jobs are not good”.

US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeff Hovenier has said the US is unhappy with the quality of partnership with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

I don't believe the partnership has anything to do with dinars, I see it's more under-designed than that. We can have good and strong partnerships, less strong or insufficient. But I don't think it's as simple as answering yes or no with all due respect to your question. To be honest, I don't think my government can send out more clear signals than what we've sent so far, because we're unhappy with the quality of our partnership with Kurt. We do not believe that the current government has been quite attentive to concerns we have constantly raised regarding plans and further implementation of the Central Bank's” regulation, Havener said.
