Democracy. com has learned that i.d. KEK chief chief has been named Bekir Grguri, a man close to Vetevendosje Movement.
Redaksia has tried to contact KEK spokesman Skender Bucolli, but so far has not received answers.
Currently, KEK chief chief, though suspended, was Nagip Krasniqi, who continues to face charges of misuse of office.
Despite charges concerning terns in several single-source tenders, Nagip Krasniqi was never dismissed.
He was suspended from this position, and now, for some time, he has been barred from approaching the office where he had worked as KEK chief chief.
10 months ago, Nagip Krasniqi was arrested on Special Prosecutor's orders on charges he carried out his works: “Misuse of official position or authority”, <x1 influence” and “Interest conflict”.
In his defense, despite the charges, Prime Minister Albin Kurti had also appeared, complaining about why the Prosecutor is dealing so much with Nagip Krasniqi.
From the Assembly Hall, Kurti had said the prosecution was not dealing with past cases at KEK, thus protecting the arrested KEK chief chief.
It is true yesterday that KEK's chief chief was arrested. Now he's in custody and it's the justice system that handles his case. This issue has facts and we hope to deal with professionally and precisely. On the other hand is the fact that there was joy in the opposition for Krasniqi's arrest. We know that in the past there have been mindless abuses, but not handled by prosecution. Of course KEK's new leadership has deposited dozens of facts, material evidence, for abuses it has found, but the prosecution's zeal for previous abuses has been zero, and the prosecution's zeal to deal with the chief chief chief who made KEK a maximum of<1>, Kurti said.
